What do Halle Berry, Kate Winslet, Katherine Heigl, and Anne Hathaway all have in common?  Besides being smart, beautiful, and well respected, they have all recently been spotted carrying a Tod’s tote bag.  Ever since Gwyneth Paltrow became the face of Tod’s last year, their bags have become the new IT-bag to have.

One of my favorites JP Tod’s handbags is the Lady “D” bag. The newest redition of the bag named after the much missed Lady Dianna is offered in four colors:  Beige (Camel), Chocolage Brown, White and of course the class Black.

This fabulous Tod’s tote handbag has all the qualities of a classic Tod’s bag that you expect: rich,  full grained leather, comfortable yet classic styling, and white top stitching which accentuate the crisp lines of this classic tote handbag.

The distinctive TOD’S logo is embossed on the grained leather on the outside.  This bag is ultra functional with 2 lined pockets and 1 zippered compartment on the inside. The Lady D, of course, also comes with a Tod’s dust bag to protect it when it is not in use.

I use the Lady D bag all the time for business presentations.  I keep my Apple iPhone (another must have, but you can’t get this from eDesignerShop unfortunately) and pens in one of the inside pockets; my lipgloss, mascara, mirror, and comb in the second pocket; my purse in the zippered compartment; my laptop and notes in the main leather lined purse.

When I take my kids on a day trip, I replace my laptop with some snacks, sunblock, a bottle of water and I’m ready to go. Plenty of room to carry the little extras you need to be a prepared mon.

There are so many beautiful colors to choose from when it comes to handbags, so we have decided to feature a color a week in our blog. We call it, “Color of The Month”, or COTM.

Nothing shows your mood or your outlook on life than what you wear. Although it’s hard to find a bright pair of “blue” jeans, you can show people your love of life by choosing vibrant colored handbags!

Turquois or Turquoise, no matter how you spell it, is one of these colors. A fancy name for Baby Blue, it is a beautifully bright color that is eye catching, yet not too obnoxious.

So what can you wear turquois with? It’s actually a very easy color to accessorize with.In a famous scene in the movie “The Devil Wears Prada”, we see them match a Turquois Prada Handbag with a red dress, and red shoes. Although this review is for the Prada Tessuto Vernice Tote Medium BR4001, it’s almost identical to it’s larger sibling, Prada BR4104 Large Tote. You can use this review for the BR4104 except when it comes to size, the BR4104 is about 15 to 20% larger as you can see in the Picture below.

2009 is definitely the year of the tote bags!  Celebrities, including Ashley Tisdale, Cameron Diaz, and Hilary Duff, have been spotted toting different Prada totes.  What better way to jump into fashion than to buy this beautiful Prada Tessuto Vernice Tote?

I love this tote because it exudes the classic Prada style with only it’s signature logo in gold as it’s design.  The signature Prada black nylon is sturdy and there’s all thestorage room you could need.  When I go to the gym, I can fit my towel, water bottle, iPod, purse, and iPhone in the tote with room to spare.  When I go out to a nice dinner, I feel classy carrying this tote and I almost always get complements on it.

What’s the best way to tell if what you are buying is an authentic Prada Wallet or Fendi Handbag? The short answer:

It’s Not Easy!

When an item goes through a closeout buyout like it does when the item comes to eDesignerShop, the item has gone from an authorized sales channel to a third party that the manufacturer does not deal with directly. Most of the time the items are from previous seasons. The newer items may be from one to two seasons ago, or a few years or more (As of the date of writing this entry, there might be a few items from 2002)!

So no, you may not find the exact item that you see at the Balenciaga boutique in New York, but you might find something that was there last summer. So one sure sign that an item is not authentic is if it is the exact same item as what is currently in Prada stores for ½ the price! Designers have no reason to closeout a current season item that they are selling for full price in stores. However, after the season is over, to make room for next season’s items, it makes sense to sell the leftover stock through outlets or close them out.
